Arranged alphabetically by subject and chronologically by date, this sub-series contains Stauffer Chemical Company correspondence, which was collected and maintained by John E. Stauffer. The materials in this sub-series provide limited documentation of Stauffer Chemical Company’s miscellaneous business activities, mainly between the mid-1950s and early 1970s. Limited documentation of John E. and Hans Stauffer’s activities with the company is also found in this sub-series. A single file of correspondence generated by former Stauffer president and chairman of the board Christian de Guigne III is also preserved here.
Memoranda and letters make up the bulk of the materials found in the Correspondence files. Small amounts of other miscellaneous materials, including, but not limited to, financial documents, reports, photocopied articles, and notes are preserved in these files as well.
