Content Description
This collection does not contain all of the video cassette tapes and DVDs held by the Science History Institute archives or the Othmer Library more broadly. This collection contains items that were found in our collections or which were single-item donations, which have been grouped together into this collection to make them accessible. When known, provenance information is included in the description for the individual item.
The video cassette tapes and DVDs in this collection cover a wide range of topics and genres, including events held at the Science History Institute (formerly the Chemical Heritage Foundation), educational films, oral history interviews with scientists, and promotional or documentary materials for various chemical and pharmaceutical companies. This collection is arranged in alphabetical order by creator and, when the creator is not known, by title.

This collection is open to researchers; however, video tapes must be digitized and video files must be removed from DVDs in order to be viewed. Many items have already been through this process and are readily accessible while others will require some time to prepare. Some digitized items are available online (see the Digitized Materials Note below). Processing Information
The Science History Institute DVD and Video Collection was created and arranged before 2022 by Science History Instutite staff. A finding aid to the collection was created by Sarah Newhouse in 2022 and two additional boxes of tapes found in the collections were added (boxes 11 and 12).
The tape Building Construction with Foreman Scott and Digger the Dozer (1995) was weeded from this collection in August 2024 as it falls outside of our collecting scope.
