Scope and Content
The Syntex Syva Alumni Association Collection consists of materials collected by the SSAA, which were created by or pertain to Syntex Corporation. The collection is arranged into the following five series:
- Printed Materials

- Audio-Visual Materials

Sub-series Description
Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series consists of miscellaneous printed materials that were printed by or directly pertain to Syntex Corporation and to a lesser extent, its corporate successor Roche Bioscience. The materials in this sub-series document Syntex's development and activities, mainly from the firm's perspective. They also document the firm's efforts to communicate with its employees, investors, customers, and the general public.
A large majority of the materials in this sub-series were published by Syntex Corporation, which includes a handful of items printed by its subsidiaries Arapahoe Chemicals, Incorporated and Syva Company. Two copies of a 2009 yearbook published by Syntex's corporate successor Roche Bioscience are also preserved in this sub-series. A few newspaper and magazine articles written about Syntex Corporation and its subsidiary Arapahoe Chemicals, Incorporated are also found here.
The contents of the Syntex Printed Materials consist mainly of newsletters, periodicals, and annual reports. A noticeable number of product brochures, directories, employee handbooks, company overviews, and stockholder notices are also found here. A variety of other printed materials, including, but not limited to, books, exhibit brochures, magazine and newspaper articles, appointment calendars, and examples of company stationary are preserved in this sub-series as well.
