A majority of the images in this sub-series were created by Syntex Corporation. A significant number of images created by F. Hoffman-La Roche & Company and Syntex's corporate successor Roche Bioscience are also found here. Many of images in this series were used for employee and public relations purposes.

The images found in the Slides and Transparencies sub-series concern a wide variety of subjects. Images concerning Syntex's and Roche's research and business activities make up the largest portion of the Slides and Transparencies series. Also present are a significant number image of Syntex facilities, most notably those of the firm's Palo Alto, California campus. Smaller numbers of images pertaining to other miscellaneous subjects, including, but not limited to products, social functions and community service activities, Syntex's art collection, and crises involving the company are found in this sub-series as well.
