Series Description
Arranged in its original order, this series contains research and development files generated by Carbogel, Incorporated during Richard M. Goodman’s employment with the firm. These files primarily document Carbogel, Incorporated’s research and development work on coal water slurry fuels and the technologies for manufacturing them. Several professional conferences regarding coal slurries, which were apparently attended by Richard M. Goodman and/or his Carbogel, Incorporated colleagues, are also documented here.
The contents of the R & D Files consist of a variety of materials. Reports, correspondence, research and development data, conference papers, and article reprints are the most common materials found in these files. Smaller, but noticeable, amounts of government documents, trade ads, and conference proceedings are also preserved in this series. A variety of other miscellaneous materials, including, but not limited to, memoranda, article preprints, notes, and transparencies are present in this series as well.
