Sub-series Description
In 1994, Robert J. Baptista was named Vice-President of Rubber Manufacturing USA for Miles, Inc., the name by which Bayer AG’s U.S. holdings was known. He retired from this position in the year 2000.
Arranged in its original order, this sub-series consists of twenty-six files in Boxes 1-2 regarding Bayer Corporation and its Texas plants. These files contain corporate publications authored by and belonging to Robert J. Baptista, a copy of the survey results for a corporate safety survey at Bayer Corporation’s Orange, Texas plant, and a registration statement from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Also included in this sub-series are non-Bayer materials dealing with environmental issues, health, and safety from the Chemical Manufacturing Association and the Texas Chemical Council, and files containing publications, proceedings, and reports from the Texas Institute for Advancement of Chemical Technology.
