Scope and Content
The Papers of Jerome B. Schapiro contain organizational records collected and maintained by American chemical engineer and dry cleaning industry executive Jerome B. Schapiro. The files in this collection document Schapiro’s involvement with several policy making and advocacy organizations concerned with textile product and safety standards. The collection is arranged into the following six series:

Series Description
The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists is an American non-profit professional association for textile industry professionals. Founded in 1921, the AATCC develops test methods and standards used by textile industry professionals throughout the world. Jerome B. Schapiro was an active member of the AATCC, which included serving on its International Test Methods Committee.
Arranged chronologically by year, this series contains Jerome B. Schapiro’s American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists files, which document his activities with the organization, including his service on its International Test Methods Committee. The contents of the files in this series include correspondence, minutes, reports, and a handbook.
