A few items documenting his graduate studies at Johns Hopkins University are also found here.
Most of the Academic Files’ contents regard chemistry classes taught by Dodson at Cal Tech and Columbia, which consist mainly of lecture notes and exams, but also include student essays, gradebooks, a class roster, and a lecture schedule. Also found in this sub-series are a handful of files regarding individual graduate students advised by Dodson at Columbia, which mainly contain copies of Ph.D. dissertations, but also include a few paper manuscripts and notes. Four files regarding Dodson’s graduate studies at Johns Hopkins, which include a copy of his Ph.D. dissertation, class assignments, class notes, term papers, and class presentations are also found here. A grade book belonging to scientist Don M. Yost, a colleague of Dodson at Cal Tech, is preserved in this sub-series as well.
