Sub-series Description
Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains subject files pertaining to a cross-section of Richard W. Dodson’s professional activities. A majority of the files in this sub-series document his extra-curricular activities within the scientific community, which include, but are not limited to, his attendance at conferences, leadership positions with scientific organizations (most notably the United States Atomic Energy Commission), and his service as a referee for several scientific journals. This sub-series also contains a few files documenting Dodson’s scholarly activities, which include scientific papers he presented over the course of his career. A handful of files regarding a few of Dodson’s employers, including, but not limited to, Brookhaven National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory are also found here. A small number of files regarding fellow scientists and subjects of scientific interest to Dodson are preserved in this sub-series as well.
The contents of the Subject Files consist mainly of correspondence, article reprints, paper manuscripts, and clippings. Publications, photographs, and a few photo negatives are found in the Subject Files as well.
