Sub-series Description
Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains University of California printed materials that were collected by William A. Lester, Jr. A majority of the publications in this sub-series were published by the University of California, Berkeley. A few publications printed by the University of California system (of which Cal Berkeley is part) are also found here.
Most of the publications in this sub-series pertain to University of California minority issues that were of concern to Lester, including affirmative action, student, faculty, and staff diversity, and opportunities for minority students, faculty, and staff. A single item printed for a symposium held in honor of Lester’s 70th birthday is also present here.
Reports are the most common publications found in the University of California Printed Materials. A periodical, an action plan, a booklet, and a handbook are also present here. A meeting notice and minutes of a single meeting are preserved here as well.
