Series Description
Jackson State University is a public historically black research university in Jackson, Mississippi. Founded in 1877, it is one of the largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States.
William A. Lester, Jr. had a longstanding professional relationship with this university which began during the 1970s. He served Jackson State as a member of the External Advisory Committee for the Computational Center for Molecular Structure and Interactions’ CREST Program. He also served as Adjunct Professor at the university’s Department of Chemistry.
This series contains William A. Lester, Jr.’s Jackson State University files. The files in this series provide documentation of Lester’s activities with the university. The contents of the Jackson State University Files are arranged into the following four sub-series:
