The William A. Lester, Jr. Papers contain the professional and personal papers of African American theoretical chemist and chemistry educator William A. Lester, Jr. The collection is arranged into the following thirteen series:

Series Description
Arranged alphabetically by subject, this series contains William A. Lester, Jr.’s Personal Files. It consists of six files containing personal materials belonging to Lester that do not readily fit elsewhere in the collection.
Two files containing the transcripts of a 2003 oral history of Lester conducted by the University of California, Berkeley’s Oral History Center are found in this series. A single file concerning oral histories of Lester conducted by The HistoryMakers is also present in this series. Single files containing Lester’s curricula vitae, examples of Lester’s University of California, Berkeley stationary, and a Tuskegee Airmen commemorative puzzle are preserved here as well.
