Sub-series Description

Arranged alphabetically by publisher/author, this sub-series contains miscellaneous publications collected by William A. Lester, Jr. The materials in this sub-series were published by a number of different entities. Professional organizations (including the American Association for the Advancement of Science) and U.S. government agencies (including the National Science Foundation) are the most common entities represented in the Publications sub-series. Other entities represented in this sub-series include, but are not limited to, science institutes, conferences, colleges and universities, and the U.S. military.

The materials in the Publications sub-series concern a number of subjects that were of interest to Lester. Minority issues (including minorities in the sciences and minorities in higher education), various scientific topics (including scientific computing) are the most common topics represented in these materials. Publications pertaining to several other miscellaneous subjects, including, but not limited to, science education, conference activities, and the activities of science institutions are also covered here.

The contents of the Publications sub-series consist of a variety of materials. Reports make up the largest component of the materials found in this sub-series. Other miscellaneous types of publications, including, but not limited to, published scientific papers, conference programs, conference proceedings, and data books are preserved here as well.
