Sub-series Description

Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains articles collected by William A. Lester, Jr. The materials in these files pertain to a handful of subjects that were of interest to Lester. Files containing articles regarding minority issues (including minorities in science and minorities in higher education) make up the largest component of this sub-series. A few files containing articles concerning education issues and computing are also found in these files. Single files containing articles regarding William A. Lester, Jr. himself, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, and Joachim Schaefer (one of Lester’s collaborators) are also present here.

Newspaper articles and magazine articles are the most common items found in the Articles files. Smaller, but noticeable, amounts of article manuscripts and papers are also present in this sub-series. Small amounts of other miscellaneous materials, including, but not limited to, press releases, notes, and graphs are preserved here as well.
