Sub-series Description
Arranged chronologically, this sub-series contains materials related to Robert H. Socolow's Frederick Sheldon Traveling Fellowship. During this fellowship, Socolow traveled throughout the Soviet Union, Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Northern Africa. Each folder contains materials from a country or region Socolow visited during the traveling fellowship. Most of the materials within this sub-series are travel logs written by Socolow detailing his travels and work in these countries and regions. There is also personal correspondence written by Socolow to his family, acquaintances, and colleagues.
The contents of the Frederick Sheldon Traveling Fellowship files consist of a variety of materials. This includes manuscripts, letters, printed materials, photographs, pamphlets, and memorabilia.
