The Robert H. Socolow Papers contain the records of American environmental scientist and theoretical physicist Robert H. Socolow. The collection is arranged into the following eight series:

Sub-series Description
Arranged alphabetically, this sub-series contains files pertaining to Robert H. Socolow's work in the Soviet Union and with Soviet scientists. A majority of the sub-series contains files from workshops, conferences, and symposiums attended by Socolow, such as the Soviet-American Symposium on Energy Conservation and the Global Forum on Environment and Development. The sub-series also contains files related to the collaborative work and meetings between the Soviet Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences. There are also several files related to Socolow's work with the Soviet Jewry Movement and the Soviet scientists Evald Shpilrain and Alexei Makarov.
The contents of the Soviet Union Work files contain a variety of materials. These include correspondence, drafts, reports, manuscripts, printed materials, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, photographs, transparencies, meeting minutes, and memorabilia.
