Sub-series Description
Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains Albert Bowers’ Subject Files, which he collected and maintained during his tenure as a Syntex Corporation executive. These files provide documentation of some of Bowers’ various activities and interests at Syntex.
Files concerning various Syntex internal company matters, including the Syntex Scholar Program and the firm’s AIDS in the workplace policy, make up the largest component of the Subject Files. Smaller, but noticeable, numbers of files regarding Albert Bowers himself, public officials, and a few scientists are also present in this sub-series. Files concerning a few other miscellaneous topics, including Syntex scientist/executive George Rosenkranz and the firm’s dealings with United States Senate committees are also found here.
Correspondence makes up the largest component of the materials found in the Subject Files. Smaller, but noticeable, amounts of articles, speech manuscripts, and notes are also found in this sub-series. Small amounts of other miscellaneous materials, including, but not limited to, oral history transcripts, legal documents, reports, and agendas are preserved here as well.
