Sub-series Description

Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains subject files collected and maintained by Gwynn Akin Bowers during her tenure as a Syntex Corporation executive. These files provide documentation of some of Akin’s various activities and interests at Syntex. They also provide some documentation regarding Syntex’s activities during her tenure with the firm.

Files concerning Akin’s various activities with Syntex and Syntex company matters, including the Syntex Scholar Program and the firm’s acquisition by Roche Holdings Limited, make up the largest components of the Subject Files. A handful of files concerning other subjects that were of interest to Akin while at Syntex are also present here.

Correspondence, notes, and performance reviews are the most common materials found in the Subject Files. Smaller, but noticeable, amounts of articles, publications, and newsletters are also present in this sub-series. Small amounts of other miscellaneous materials, including reports and transparencies are preserved in this sub-series as well.
