Sub-series Description
Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains printed materials that were published by Syntex Corporation, which were collected by Albert Bowers and Gwynn Akin Bowers. The printed materials in this sub-series document Syntex’s activities from the firm’s perspective. They also document the firm’s efforts to communicate with its employees, investors, customers, and the general public. Albert Bowers and Gwynn Akin Bowers are mentioned in many of the printed items preserved in this sub-series.
The bulk of the materials in this sub-series were published by Syntex Corporation alone, which includes a handful of items published by its subsidiaries Syntex Agribusiness, Incorporated and Syntex Laboratories, Incorporated. A single publication jointly printed by Syntex Corporation and Stanford University and a guide chart jointly published by Syntex Laboratories, Incorporated and Addis International are also present here.
The contents of the Syntex Printed Materials consist mainly of annual reports, periodicals (most notably Syntex World), stockholder meeting notices, and quarter reports. Smaller, but noticeable, numbers of publications, programs and newsletters are also found in this sub-series. Single examples of other miscellaneous materials, including a directory, a directory cover, a glossary, a menu, and a guide chart are preserved here as well.
