Series Description

Arranged alphabetically by subject, this series contains Robert B. Cody’s Nicolet Instrument Corporation Files, which he collected and maintained during his tenure with the firm. The files in this series provide some documentation of research and development work he conducted on Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometers (FTMS) at Nicolet. They also provide some technical information regarding Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometers manufactured and marketed by the firm.

Six of the files in this series concern Nicolet’s Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometers, including the FTMS 1000 and FTMS 2000, which Cody helped develop. A single file concerning ionization methods using Nicolet FTMS mass spectrometers is also present here.

The contents of the Nicolet Instrument Corporation Files consist of a variety of materials. Printed FTMS source code makes up the largest component of the materials found in this series. Small amounts of other miscellaneous materials, including, but not limited to, articles, reports, notes, and correspondence are preserved here as well.
