Sub-series 1. JEOL Limited Printed Materials, 1985-2001, undated

Arranged alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains JOEL Limited printed materials, which were collected by Robert B. Cody. Most of the materials in this sub-series concern scientific instruments manufactured by JOEL Limited and developed, marketed, and serviced by its American subsidiary (and Cody’s employer) JEOL USA, Incorporated. A handful of items concerning scientific methods and techniques using JEOL instruments are also present here.

Materials pertaining to JEOL data systems used for mass spectrometry applications, including the Complement and MS-MP data systems, make up the largest component of this sub-series. A smaller, but noticeable, number of items regarding JEOL ionization systems used for mass spectrometry applications, including the FRIT LC/MS system, are also present in this sub-series. Small numbers of items concerning JEOL mass spectrometers, mass spectrometer methods and techniques, and a JEOL sampling device are also preserved here.

Instruction manuals make up the majority of the printed materials found in this sub-series. Small numbers of other miscellaneous printed materials, including, but not limited to, publications, application notes, brochures, and instruction booklets are preserved here as well.
