Series Description
Arranged chronologically by year and alphabetically by subject, the Notes and Letters series make up the largest portion of the Kenneth R. Shoulders Papers. The materials in this series provide detailed day-by-day documentation of Shoulders’ activities between 1951 and 2013. By studying contents of the Notes and Letters, researchers can learn a great deal about how Shoulders’ conducted his engineering and scientific work. The contents of the Notes and Letters also reveal much about Shoulders himself. Most of the files in the Notes and Letters series concern Shoulders’ work on multiple projects. A few are devoted to his work on specific individual projects, including, but not limited to, Electrum Validum, aircraft, and microelectronics.
The contents of the Notes and Letters files consist mainly of Shoulders’ handwritten notes, typed notes, and correspondence. A wide variety of other materials are also found in this series. Noticeable amounts of papers, presentations, drawings, drawing reproductions, and blueprints are preserved in these files. Smaller amounts of manuscripts and miscellaneous printed materials are found in the Notes and Letters as well.
