First Day Cover Chemistry Stamp Collection

This collection consists of seven first day covers with chemistry themes, affixed to envelopes. The first is a stamp for the American Chemical Society, commemorating their Diamond Jubilee. The stamp is affixed to an envelope with an illustration of a man working in a lab with the text “UN Development through SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY”. The envelope is stamped “United Nations – Feb 4 – 9 AM – 1963”. The next stamp is for water conservation and is affixed to an envelope with an illustration of a lake with a “water conservation” sign. The text below the illustration reads “In connection with the Seventh National Watershed Congress”. The envelope is stamped “Washington D.C. – Apr 18 – 9 AM – 1960”. The last three stamps are from the Deutsche Bundespost and are all affixed to the same envelope.
