Underwood & Underwood Stereographs of Manufacturing Industries
48 stereographs depicting various stages in the industrial manufacture of glass, steel, iron, and salt published by Underwood & Underwood after 1895.
Uniroyal Chemical history materials
The collection consists of a photocopy of a typewritten paper by Borg on the history of Uniroyal Chemical and a special 75th Anniversary issue of Uniroyal Chem-Texts , vol. 13, 1979, No. 3 containing an abbreviated history of the company. This appears not to have written by Borg.
United States Army Gas School notebook
These are comprehensive notes on the use of gas in warfare, both offensively and defensively. The notes include teaching aids and a circular letter from Brig. Gen. Amos A. Fries, Chief of the Chemical warfare Service in which he discusses use of gas in trench warfare in France.
United States Steel Corporation flow charts showing how steel is made
This is second printing a chart that originally appeared in 1953. The imagery is simple and easy-to-follow. The chart could be folded down to 8"x10" and is perforated on one edge for inserting into a ring-binder suggesting that it was designed for use in schools.
University of Pennsylvania New Chemistry Building Dedication Dinner Program
Program for the University of Pennsylvania New Chemistry Dedication Dinner, which was collected by Ralph Connor.
USDA Bureau of Chemistry Photograph Collection
Print photographs of various laboratories believed to be associated with the USDA Bureau of Chemistry.
Vanadium Corporation of America Photograph Collection
Photographs and ephemera related to the Vanadium Corporation of America, a company devoted to the mining, development, and application of metals and ferro alloys.
Varian Associates Instrument Division Brochure
A brochure produced by the Varian Instrument Division detailing the launch of their E-900 EPR Data Acquisition System.
Varian Associates schematics
These are miscellaneous schematics from Varian Associates for their Model V6060 mass spectrometer and other products. All date from the period 1960-1963. About half is related to the Model V6060, but the rest is a miscellany.
Virginia-Carolina Chemical Company pocket notebook
The advertising is more puff than substance, but there is a useful list of the various products marketed by the Virginia-Carolina Chemical Company in the years 1916-1917. These are organized by type and include "guaranteed analyses" of the Ammonia, A.P.A. and Potash contents of each product. A former owner of the notebook wrote some figures in pencil on the first blank page, but they don't seem to add up to much.
