The focus of this collection is Chemical Education. Verhoek's notebooks from Harvard and the University of Wisconsin give a fairly comprehensive overview of how Chemistry was taught in the early years of the 20th Century.

These supplementary readings accompanied a course in physical science that was a part of the University of Wisconsin's Integrated Liberal Studies program. The course combined elements of chemistry, physics and astronomy. This was the Second Edition.
