These supplementary readings accompanied a course in physical science that was a part of the University of Wisconsin's Integrated Liberal Studies program. The course combined elements of chemistry, physics and astronomy. This was the Second Edition.

These are mimeographed readings in a soft cover spiral binder. This binder was used by Aaron J. Ihde during the 1964 class taught at the University of Wisconsin.

General Note

Aaron John Ihde was born on December 31, 1909 in Neenah, WI. He attended the University of Wisconsin and after a brief spell in industry, received his Ph.D. in 1941. His specialty was food chemistry. He taught chemistry at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN for a years, then returned to the University of Wisconsin where he taught the freshman chemistry program throughout the war years. In 1946 he began teaching the history of chemistry and in 1947, taught The Physical Universe a science for course the Liberal Arts course for the first time. He continued teaching this course until his retirement in 1980. Ihde was the 1968 recipient of the Dexter Award. He died in Sarasota, FL on February 23 2000.
