Scope and Content
The William A. Lester, Jr. Papers contain the professional and personal papers of African American theoretical chemist and chemistry educator William A. Lester, Jr. The collection is arranged into the following thirteen series:

Sub-series Description
Arranged chronologically by date, this sub-series contains William A. Lester, Jr.’s NOBCChE correspondence files. The contents of these files consist mainly of correspondence between Lester and the NOBCChE’s leadership and members. The materials in these files provide limited documentation of Lester’s various activities with the organization between 1972 and 2003.
Letters make up the bulk of the materials found in the Correspondence Files. Small amounts of other miscellaneous materials, including, but not limited to, memoranda, newsletters, notes, member lists, and brochures are preserved here as well.
