Scope and Content
The William A. Lester, Jr. Papers contain the professional and personal papers of African American theoretical chemist and chemistry educator William A. Lester, Jr. The collection is arranged into the following thirteen series:

Sub-series Description
Arranged chronologically by date, this sub-series contains William A. Lester, Jr.’s Jackson State University correspondence files. The contents of these files consist mainly of correspondence between Lester and Jackson State administration and faculty members. These files provide limited documentation of Lester’s activities with the university between 1983 and 2009.
Letters make up the bulk of the materials found in the Correspondence Files. Small amounts of other miscellaneous materials, including notes, proposals, and student resumes are preserved here as well.
