Biographical sketch
Joan Warnow-Blewitt was Associate Director of the AIP Center for the History of Physics. She was trained as a librarian and first went to work at the American Institute of Physics in 1965 as the Librarian of the Niels Bohr Library. She was a Fellow of the Society of American Archivists and did pioneering work in what is now known as documentation strategy, working in collaboration with archivists and historians to save the papers of individual physicists at their home institutions. She retired in 1998 and died on May 30, 2006.
