Biographical sketch

James Johnston Pyle was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in April 1914. He attended the University of British Columbia and received his PhD from McGill University in 1939. Upon graduation he joined the Plastics Laboratory of the General Electric Company at Pittsfield, MA. His areas of expertise were laminated plastics and general research. From 1946 through 1949 he was active in the Manhattan Project. He retired in 1968 and established his own consulting business. He died in 2004.

This is an unpublished computer printed autobiographical memoir. It is 55 single sided pages printed in black ink. This memoir is written in the form of short anecdotes and covers its subjects career. It also includes photocopies of letters written by and to Pyle.
