Biographical sketch
Giovanni Antonio Giobert, 1761-1834 was an Italian chemist and mineralogist after whom the mineral Giobertite has been named. He contributed to the development of eudiometry and agricultural chemistry.

General Note
This is a letter written in French is dated August 16, 1812 from Giovanni Antonio Giobert to Count Chanteloup. It is written in black ink on an 8 x12 piece of paper that has been folded in half to provide four writing surfaces, of which only three have been used. Letter has a red postal stamp and postmark.
