Biographical sketch

Joseph X. Labovsky was born in Kiev, Ukraine on September 10 1912. He was a longtime employee of I. E. Du Pont de Namours & Co., beginning as a laboratory technical assistant to Dr. Wallace Carothers at the Experimental station in Wilmington, he rose to the rank of Training and Industrial Relations Supervisor at the Chestnut Run Laboratory. Joseph X. Labovsky retired from Du Pont in 1975 and has since lectured extensively on Wallace Carothers and the history of Nylon.
