Biographical sketch
The Division of Cellulose Chemistry began as a section within the Division of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry. Their first section meeting was held in Rocheter, New York in April, 1921. It became a chartered division of the ACS in 1922. In 1961 the name Division of Cellulose, Wood and Fiber Chemistry was adopted and in 1973 it became the Cellulose Paper and Textile Division. The division is now known as the Cellulose and Renewable Materials Division.

This collection documents the activities of this division of ACS during the period 1950-1980. Of special interest are the early issues of the division newsletter The Fibrile Angle and the several division histories.
