Most of the reports deal with Shayne's career in the Light Military Electronics Department at G.E. There is one report dating from his time in the Reactor Engineering Department at Westinghouse and one from a later stint at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Biographical sketch
Robert S. Shayne was born on December 8, 1910 in Chicago Illinois. He attended the University of Chicago (BS, 1930; PhD, Organic Chemistry 1933). His fields of expertise were adhesives and surface chemistry but he eventually expanded his interests to include metallurgy corrosion studies and radiation effects. He was a member of both the ACs and the AIChE. Robert Shayne died on May 29, 2008.
