Scope and Content
The Mary Ellen Bowden German Stamp Collection includes six stamps of two types printed in Germany. Included are two copies of a red stamp depicting a mechanical apparatus with a caption that reads, “Deutsche Bundespost Otto Langen 100 Jahre Deutcher Verbrennungsmotor,” and four copies of a brown stamp depicting a molecular sketch with a caption that reads, “Deutsche Bundespost Kekule 100 Jahre Benzolformel.” All the stamps include text that is written in German.
