The John H. Wotiz et al. v. American Chemical Society, et al. Collection includes a collection of correspondence and legal documents pertaining to the “John H. Wotiz et al. v. American Chemical Society, et al.” lawsuit. This lawsuit was filed against Alan J. Rocke, William B. Jensen, the American Chemical Society Division of the History of Chemistry, and the American Chemical Society by Wotiz and Glenview Press, Incorporated. Created, collected, and maintained by Rocke, the materials included in the collection detail this legal dispute regarding the publication of an article about German organic chemist Friedrich August Kekulé, for which Rocke was under contract to write for inclusion in Wotiz’s book, “The Kekulé Riddle : A Challenge for Chemists and Psychologists” in 1993.
