This collection consists of black and white photographs of Edward Brame and his family, including scenes from Brame's childhood, college graduation, and reunions. The collection also includes several images of Brame's laboratory at Du Pont in the 1960s, as well as photographs of Brame and his wife Grace attending numerous functions in the 1980s and 1990s. Various lantern slides associated with Brame's research as a spectroscopist are also contained in the collection.

Background Note

Edward G. Brame, Jr. was born in Shiloh, New Jersey on March 20, 1927. He graduated from Dickinson College in 1948 and went on to do graduate work at Columbia University. Upon receiving his Masters Degree from Columbia, he worked at the Corn Products Refining Company as a research chemist from 1950 to 1953. Brame subsequently returned to academia and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1957. After earning his Ph.D., Brame began a twenty-seven-year tenure at the Du Pont Company, working in both the Elastomer Chemicals and Polymer Products Departments. He retired from Du Pont in 1984. Following his retirement, Dr. Brame worked as a consulting chemist and became co-founder and president of the CECON Group, a scientific and engineering consultant firm. Edward G. Brame, Jr. died in 2002.
