Scope and Content

Most of the materials in this collection were printed by Union Carbide, which includes items published when the firm was known as Union Carbide and Carbon Corporation (prior to 1957) and Union Carbide Corporation (from 1957 onwards) respectively. Two printed items published by Unocal Corporation and a single information sheet produced by Marubeni Specialty Chemicals, Incorporated are also preserved here. Chemical products represented by the materials in this collection include, but are not limited to, Bakelite phenolic resins, solvents, coatings, and glycols.
Technical bulletins and publications are the most common materials found in the Scott Frank Collection. Small numbers of information sheets, brochures, reprints, and sales booklets, and a single customer letter are preserved here as well.
