The Richard W. Dodson Papers contain the personal papers of American scientist Richard W. Dodson. The collection is arranged into the following six series:

Series Description
Arranged alphabetically by subject, this series contains Richard W. Dodson’s professional and personal correspondence. A majority of the files in this series contain correspondence generated by Dodson during his tenure as Acting Chairman and Chairman of Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Chemistry Department. This series also contains Dodson’s correspondence with a number of educational and scientific institutions, including, but not limited to, the California Institute of Technology, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Columbia University. Also found in this series are files containing Dodson’s correspondence with the United States Atomic Energy Commission and a handful scientific journals. A few files containing Dodson’s correspondence with fellow scientists, including, but not limited to Gerhart Friedlander and Linus Pauling are also preserved here.
The contents of the Correspondence files consist mainly of letters. A small amount of accompanying materials, including, but not limited to, clippings, article reprints, notes, photographs, and scientific papers are found in these files as well.
