General Note
This collection consists of miscellaneous material, some of it from the Chemical Society, some of it photocopies of letters and reprints by eminent chemists collected by Laird Ward. The photocopies of handwritten letters include items by Archie MacDiarmid, and Ernest Rutherford. There are also reprints by and about Rutherford. The Chemical Society material is a set a By-Laws dated 1954 and a Chemical Society Fellowships brochure dated 1962.
