This collection largely consists of materials relating to the life of career of Witkop's friend Percy Lavon Julian.

Abstract

The collection consists of correspondence, reprints of published papers and notebooks kept by Johann Deisenhofer during the years 1972 and 2005. The post-1987 correspondence is also preserved in CD-Rom format. Much of the correspondence and the earlier notebooks are written in German.

Scope and Content

These papers consist of three series including: laboratory notebooks, manuscripts, and miscellaneous. The laboratory notebooks are undated and contain information on animal physiology and biology. The manuscripts date from the 1920s concern his research in biochemistry. The miscellaneous items include autographed reprints, and one of his student exercises on agricultural economics.

This collection consists of one article published in the March 7, 1968 issue of The Journal of Biological Chemistry, titled "Three-dimensional Pictures of Molecular Models - Lysozyme*" which was written by Robert A. Harte and John A. Rupley.
