Sub-series Description

Arranged numerically by photo sleeve number and alphabetically by subject, this sub-series contains the Beckman Coulter, Incorporated slide collection. A large majority of the slides in this sub-series were created by Beckman Coulter’s predecessor Beckman Instruments, Incorporated. A smaller number of slides created by SmithKline Beckman Corporation are also found here.

The slides in this sub-series concern a variety of subjects. Slides of Beckman Instruments products, facilities, and personnel make up the majority of this sub-series’ contents. Slides created for several Beckman Instruments and SmithKline Beckman slide shows are also found here. A significant number of slides of company founder Arnold O. Beckman and a few of his wife Mabel Beckman are also present. A few slides of a number of other subjects, including, but not limited to, Beckman brochures, sample analyses, exhibits, and the Beckman Inventors Hall of Fame, are preserved in this sub-series as well. In addition to the slides themselves, an inventory, an accompanying slide show guide, and a slide show audiocassette are also found in this sub-series.
